My breath caught in my throat. Something that felt like trepidation quivered in my belly, but it was hotter than simple fear. There was a decidedly anticipatory edge to it, something dark and hungry.
“What…” I swallowed. “What would you do to me?”
His hand was still tangled in my hair. It tightened to a fist again, tipping my head back so my throat was exposed to him. He lowered his lips to my neck, pressing a hot kiss just below my ear. He pulled back slightly and blew a stream of cool air over the burning place where his heat had marked me. A noise I’d never made before eased up my throat. It sounded like a whimper.
“So responsive,” he murmured, his words teasing across my skin. His teeth nipped at my earlobe, giving me a flash of pain before sucking it away, tracing the shell of my ear with his tongue. I’d never known that this seemingly innocent part of my body was directly connected to my sex. It contracted in a primal rhythm, craving… him.
“You want to know what I’m going to do to you?”
Going to. There was no longer a question of if. I’d sealed my fate when I’d asked what he had planned for me.
“I’m going to strip you naked and finally drink in the sight of your gorgeous body.” He ran his hands down the curve of my waist before curling his fingers into my hips. “Then I’m going to take off my tie and bind your hands.” His touch shifted to my wrists, his long fingers encircling them like manacles as he pinned them at the small of my back. “You’ll be completely at my mercy. A low moan left my lips as desire spiked. I wanted it all, every deviant thing he’d promised me.
He drew back slightly so I could see his wolfish grin. “I think we’ll keep the rest a surprise.”
I couldn’t do more than stare up at him, memorizing his perfect, masculine features. I’d never felt this kind of raw power pulsing off a man. It caressed my body, making my skin pebble as I fell under his thrall.
“Tell me you want me, Carina.”
“I want you, Kennedy.” I didn’t hesitate, and I didn’t blush. It was the simple truth, the natural answer. The only answer.
“I like the way you say my name,” he rumbled. “You’ll be screaming it soon.”
I let out a small squeak of surprise when he swept me up in his arms and carried me into my bedroom in long, confident strides. My sense of trepidation returned. This was actually happening. I’d let him spank me, and now I was going to let him tie me up. I barely recognized the wanton woman he held against his hard chest.
“Stop that,” he ordered.
“Stop what?”
“Worrying. I’m not going to hurt you. This will feel good.”
My worries were obliterated when he brought his demanding mouth down on mine again. He carefully set me on my feet, holding onto me until I found my balance.
His hands suddenly fisted in the material of my blouse. With a jerk of his powerful arms, the buttons ripped free, exposing me with shocking abruptness. There was no slow undressing, no hesitancy. He’d told me he was going to strip me, and that was exactly what he was doing.
He tugged the blouse back, pulling it off my shoulders and down my arms before tossing it aside, discarding it as though it had annoyed him by covering my body. He swiftly unbuttoned my jeans and removed them with the same sense of immediacy. Catching onto his feverish assault, I quickly stepped out of them along with my shoes, leaving me wearing only my simple white bra and panties.
He paused, running a reverent hand over the cotton material. “One day, I’ll dress you up in leather and lace,” he spoke almost as though he was talking to himself. “But for now, this first time, these are perfect.” He traced his fingertips along the exposed swell of my full breasts, and I gasped as my nipples pebbled against the inside of my bra, the soft material suddenly too abrasive against the sensitive peaks.
“So innocent,” he remarked. His eyes suddenly locked on mine. “I will enjoy corrupting you, Carina.”
I should protest, but he called to a secret, dark part of my soul. It was as though I’d been waiting for him to say those words, to come into my life and change everything I thought I knew about myself.

Another Brilliant Story!
Centurion is Book 11 in the Impossible Series and can be read as standalone. However, if this is your first time enjoying this series, I’m pretty sure you’ll be coming back for more of Julia Syke’s amazing writing style!
Kennedy’s and Carina story was so beautifully well-written and elaborated, and with a great plot. The devotion and affection shown to her at the beginning and all throughout the story by this fantastic guy was just fantastic. They did had great chemistry from the start!
A perfect mix of drama, angst, action, suspense, amazing hot sizzling passionate scenes, twists and turns, and much more. All the characters were likeable and believable, and just leave you asking for more of them.
I absolutely loved Centurion, and I can’t wait for more of this fabulous series!
